NBPNP (New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program)
The only Canadian officially bilingual province, New Brunswick is one of the four Atlantic Maritime provinces of Canada. Surrounded by beaches, lakes, and parks, the province offers a vibrant culture, natural beauty, low cost of living, welcoming and diverse communities.
Dubbed as “entrepreneurial Mecca”, New Brunswick brings business people attracted by low operating costs, skilled workforce, superb quality of life, excellent communications infrastructure, all of which combine to create an entrepreneurial hothouse.
Now, New Brunswick brings people under the following active streams:
Express Entry Labour Market Stream
This stream operates through federal Express Entry immigration selection system. The candidates submit a profile and are placed in the Expression of Interest pool. The highest-scoring candidates are invited to submit an application to NBPNP.
Applicant eligibility requirements:
- valid Express Entry profile and Job Seeker validation code;
- currently live and work in New Brunswick in an occupation classified as NOC 0, A or B;
- letter of employment from the employer;
- valid Canadian work permit;
- CLB 7 in one of Canada’s official languages;
- a valid Educational Credential Assessment.
Skilled Workers with Employer Support
This stream is for individuals who have received a full-time, permanent job offer from a New Brunswick employer.
Applicant eligibility requirements:
- 22 to 55 years of age;
- CLB 4 for NOC C or D;
- full-time permanent job offer from a New Brunswick employer;
- job offer must be in Skill Levels o, A or B, C (types 1, 3, 7, 8, 9), D (types 1, 3, 7, 8, 9);
- demonstrate an intention to live and work in New Brunswick;
- score a minimum of 50 points on the selection grid.
Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream
This is a stream for individuals who have graduated from a recognized academic institution in New Brunswick, and intend to start or acquire a business in the province.
Applicant eligibility requirements:
- 22 to 40 years of age;
- CLB7 for either English or French;
- score a minimum of 65 out of 100 in New Brunswick’s points assessment system;
- complete at least a two-year full-time program at a New Brunswick post-secondary institution;
- must have resided in New Brunswick during the study period;
- must have owned and operated a business in New Brunswick for at least a year;
- valid post-graduate work permit (PGWP);
- intention and ability to settle in New Brunswick.
Entrepreneurial Stream
This is a pathway for individuals who intend to own and manage a business in New Brunswick. A monetary investment in the business is required from the applicants.
Applicant eligibility requirements:
- 22 to 55 years of age;
- at least two years of post-secondary education;
- CLB 5 in English or French;
- demonstrate an intention to live in New Brunswick and operate a business there;
- provide a business plan approved by an official representing the province, detailing how the business will benefit New Brunswick;
- personal net worth of at least CAD 600,000 of which CAD 300,000 must be unaffected by debts and obligations;
- 3 out of 5 years of experience managing and owning a business (with at least 33,3% ownership) or 5 out 5 years of experience working as a senior manager in a corporation;
- score at least 65 points on New Brunswick selection grid.
Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program
New Brunswick is one of the four Atlantic provinces that cooperate with the Government of Canada under Atlantic Immigration Pilot program to recruit foreign talent to meet labour market shortages. Applicants under Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program may reside abroad or be on temporary status in Canada. The pilot requires applicants to have a job offer from a designated employer that meets the requirements.
